Also Beltane, year 761, on the Outside

Unexpected significant Shadow Storms occur throughout Shadow.

Extensive damage recorded in the areas around Casablanca, Murray, Texorami, Sarrabann and Thelbane, with some significant effects felt in St. James, Sanguine, Liberty, Dealunde, Haven and Parys, and weather and tides affected throughout Shadow.

At this time there is no explanation for the Storms.

    1. Nope, kinda busy helping the clean up, healing and recovery. How bad is it in St. James? I can head there next.

Anyone with major powers scoping out whether the Feds just arranged themselves a new front doorstep into the Outside?

      1. Not too bad, I think, in comparison to what I am hearing about from other places.

I’ll give you an even worse option….

Mandor is backed into a corner, he needs to even things up. I wonder if we just saw the use of the first Primal Chaos Shadow Nuke or an unbelievably massive Blood ritual carried out at Beltane….. the timing is potentially significant.

Please note, I have no knowledge what may have caused this but I just thought about the worst options that seemed to fit the circumstances.

        1. Has anyone heard from Animus? I didn’t see them on the list. Last time we got the brunt of the storms it was when Animus was created.

Bill, I’m not sure I’m liking your mind’s speculative fiction. Not that you might not be right, just that I rather hope you aren’t. With Giselle out and about, and given what was seen from her on Paradiso in terms of blood ritual, it can’t be ruled out.

But rather than speculate, is there any chance one of you Shadow traversing types might not go have a peak and try to track the source? Then we might have some information to go on.

I can pilot but I have to know where I’m headed before I get there…which makes sleuthing really difficult. If you want someone to go with you I’d be willing.

City officials should be mopping up here soon enough and I sort of had some unofficial ground crews left over from the last Shadow storms (and the Prince’s visit) that have worked with me before that can carry on. We have Claires here now too so there should be more organized response for the injuries than before.

I ought to be able to get away for a short while. But if you’d rather I not, I understand. Several of the Spec Ops sorts prefer I not accompany them (and now that I have David to worry about I’m a bit careful who I work with in return), although you and I have served together before a while back.

          1. I have no problems in that regard. And I also agree that I hope my suggestions prove to be nothing more than supposition.

    2. Based on past experience Shadow Storms can result from the creation of a new power or the destruction of one or more existing worlds. I don’t know what else might cause Shadow Storms.

  1. As a side issue can anyone explain how the calendar system works for these dates. This entry mentions Beltane, but Beltane in what region on what world? Annabelle’s wedding is scheduled for the feast of Imbolc in Amber. Llewella’s wedding is scheduled for the Equinox in Rebma. I assume they mean the Vernal Equinox sometimes referred to as Ostara. On the calendars I know Imbolc precedes Ostara which proceeds Beltane. Do Amber and Rebma have the same seasons and calendar? Have I missed Annabelle’s wedding? Thanks.

  2. Around Amber everyone seems to set their clocks according to Ambertime. It keeps things nice and simple. I’d bet that Thelbane does something similar. As for things towards the middle, it is anyone’s guess.

You haven’t missed the Feast of Imbolc in Amber. At least, I hope not because I wasn’t there.
