Bleys’ made the following announcement from the balcony of House Jesby

“It is with deep sadness and regret that I must announce the death of King Merlin of Thelbane, earlier today. He appears to have been subjected to a debilitating arcane attack which breached his magical defences.”

“Members of his family and colleagues here are obviously shocked by the sudden end to such a brilliant and inspired leader and inventor. He will be sadly missed.

“We will be observing two minutes silence in memory of Merlin at green sky tonight.”

  1. House Jesby has been a hive of activity since the announcement of the death of Merlin. The rapid and tumultuous arrival of Princess Dara was but the first of many visits to the conquered Jesby palace.

While there is no specific testimony as to words used, staff and minions around Jesby have reported that the air was turned blue by the choice of language which Princess Dara employed to describe the situation of her son’s demise, calling specifically into account the heritage of Prince Bleys, the morality of Lady Gilva Handrake, the sexual orientation of Duke Remus, and a whole raft of other complaints about everybody and sundry who had been present at Jesby palace.

Next to arrive was the Lord High Justiciar of Thelbane, Prince Osric, who released the following statement: “I can confirm that the dead body I have examined here is that of Merlin Ambrosius, son of Corwin of Parys, and that the cause of death is mystical rather than physical. I will be remaining at Jesby palace to conduct further investigations and to interview possible witnesses.”

He went on to say “I would urge those who are concerned to avoid coming to Jesby at this time. There has already been significant contamination of the scene through use of powers, and this matter can only be made worse if every Tom, Dick and Harry comes tramping through here to gawk.”
