Casablanca Arena Update – Week 6
It’s official – the crowds at the Casablanca arena have launched a new form of protest as Mathilda! despatched another one this week. As Mathilda!’s offerings continued to be of a gruesome and needlessly violent nature, a significant portion of the audience gave her the finger. But instead of waving it in the air, they stuck it down their throats for a mass synchronised puke protest – presumably as an expression of support for those members of the crowd for whom that reaction to Mathilda!’s wins has been involuntary these last few weeks. I had wondered why the blackcurrant and orange milk shakes had been selling quite so effectively in the half hour before Mathilda!’s fight.
Um, ok, that was just too visual an image. Ewwww.
Blood and gore are one thing, the technicolor swirl is just…ewww.
(Consider the player gakked on reading…GOR: Gak on Reading…new gaming term.)
The Mathilda meatgrinder strikes again.
It amuses me that fans are protesting about too much violence in blood sports. Seriously?!?
My guess? They’re pissed off that it’s too short. You pay to get into the arena, then bet, then … tailgating, parking, concessions, something for the kids… for a fight to last for only a few seconds? Boooooriiiiing.
For the attentive arena attendee, don’t bet on the single events in the beginning — wait until the competition picks up. Then again, with what Matty’s fighting for? There’s likely nothing that will stand in her way, and opponents are not going to waste the resources on something that’s unavoidable.
So, what exactly is she fighting for?
Bill Macey.
Oops. May have said too much. However! …
She fights for those she loves, and for their future. A lot of folks go into the arena to avoid going into the military, or to pay off huge debts or to suffer for their crimes. You can also compete for citizenship, if you’re from the Outside.
I suppose it’s quicker than Military service…..if no less bloody.
