Athena relatively recently inherited the position of breeding queen of the Grecian line, after first Hera and then Aphrodite were killed.
Athena has had contact with Earth, and is more sociable with Earth than most other Goa’uld. It is also known that she has some contact with Minerva of the Roman pantheon, and it is believed that Athena is aware of the circumstances which led to the Roman pantheon voluntarily allowing themselves to be bound into their sarcophagi.
